Jeffrey W. Johnson is the Principal and Founder of the Johnson Law Group. Mr. Johnson is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell. He has extensive litigation experience. He has tried over 60 cases before juries throughout the State of Florida. Mr. Johnson specializes in defending insureds and self-insureds in relation to their tort liability litigation and claims. He routinely counsels clients from pre-suit through verdict and is intimately familiar with all stages and aspects of the claims and litigation process. He has been defending wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, commercial, construction and transportation related matters since 1987. Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in litigating and resolving first and third party property damage claims on behalf of insurance carriers. Mr. Johnson is extremely active and well versed in defending claims and litigating matters for the amusement and leisure, restaurant and retail, and trucking and commercial transportation industries. The depth and breadth of Mr. Johnson’s experience, as well as his trial tested and proven track record, have established him as one of the premier “go to” litigators in the defense industry.

Mr. Johnson is admitted to practice before the Florida Bar. He is the current President of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) and took office of this organization in September 2017. The FDLA is a statewide organization with approximately 1000 members. The FDLA’s mission is to enhance the knowledge, skills and professionalism of defense lawyers, while fostering balance in the civil courts through judicial and legislative advocacy. For the last several years, Mr. Johnson has been a member of the Board of Directors of the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association (IALDA). IALDA lawyers are actively engaged in representing the interests of the amusement and leisure industries.

Mr. Johnson is also a long time member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Council for Litigation Management (CLM), Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), National Restaurant and Retail Defense Association (NRRDA), Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the Broward County Bar Association. He has spoken at various conferences throughout the United States.

Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all trial and appellate courts in the State of Florida, as well as the U.S. District Court (Southern District of Florida).

Mr. Johnson was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1961. He has been a resident of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida since 1969. He is married to the former Elizabeth Furr of Norfolk, Virginia, and he has three children, Kimberly Elizabeth, Matthew William and Thomas William Johnson.

 

Timothy F. Malin

Mr. Malin’s representative cases include: class action litigation arising out of the Gulf oil spill with potential exposure of several hundred million dollars, traumatic brain injury cases with potential multi-million dollar exposures, pharmaceutical mis-fill cases with potential multi-million dollar exposures, trucking and automobile fatality cases with potential multi-million dollar exposures, a food contamination case involving potential national recall and multi-million dollar exposure, as well as numerous products liability cases involving medical devices, commercial products, and industrial machinery with potential multi-million dollar exposures.
 
Mr. Malin joined the Johnson Law Group in 2011. Previously he was a senior litigation associate at Hinshaw & Culbertson, LLP, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and an associate at Peterson Bernard.
 
Mr. Malin earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center and his Bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. He is a member of The Florida Bar and The Federal Bar’s Southern District, Middle District, and Northern District of Florida.

Mandi D. Stephenson

Mandi Stephenson is a skilled trial attorney with more than 25 years of defense litigation experience. She concentrates her practice on civil litigation defense in the areas of premises liability, products liability, amusement park liability, and personal injury and wrongful death defense.

Ms. Stephenson joined the Johnson Law Group in 2010 from the law firm of Johnson, Leiter & Belsky. From 1995-2002, she was at Hinshaw & Culberston, where she was a partner. Prior to joining Hinshaw, Ms. Stephenson was an attorney with Wicker, Smith.

Ms. Stephenson is admitted to The Florida Bar and the U.S. District Court, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Ms. Stephenson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida, and her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

Michael E. Wargo

Mike Wargo is a talented litigator with more than 30 years of experience in all facets of litigation and trial. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance law, personal injury and construction/contractor liability. He is also a certified circuit court civil mediator.
 
Mr. Wargo earned his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida (including the Trial Bar), the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida.

Barry A. Dubinsky

Barry Dubinsky was born in Queens, New York.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, in 1980. Barry received his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles, California, in 1984. He moved back to Florida in 1986 to be closer to his family and became a Florida licensed attorney in October, 1986. 

Prior to his employment at the Johnson Law Group in June, 2012, Barry practiced law as a senior associate at the Florida statewide defense law firm of Conroy, Simberg, Ganon, Krevans, Abel, Lurvey, Morrow, Kraft, and Klein, P.A.  He has tried over 35 jury trials to verdict.  Barry’s practice areas include general liability and casualty, automobile litigation, premises liability, first party property damage litigation, construction litigation, products liability, and trucking litigation. 

He is a certified instructor of insurance education in the State of Florida as well as a certified class action attorney. Barry has lectured to thousands of claims adjusters and others regarding a variety of topics. He volunteers as a mentor to a middle school student with the group Take Stock in Children, mentors a law school student, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. Barry enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
